Description

The Air Inside is a response to the boundaries created by the pandemic. I bought a set of Nymphenburg porcelain figurines, cast them in cement and sawed them in half to reveal the hollow inside. This time has been defined by physical boundaries around the air between us, by walls that make the inside air more dangerous, by masks that contain my air from yours—and a total renegotiation of how visible we are to the people we know. The Air inside attempts to speak to that experience. The Pigment Staff is made from double walled glass filled with painting pigment and set in anodized aluminum. Carrying it around like a wizard stick is a simple expression of joy.
