About the artist
Emmie Strang is a student at the Rhode Island School of Design pursuing a degree in furniture design. Originally from Southwestern Colorado and Southern Florida, Emmie’s biggest design influences are what you would find on a walk in the woods. Perfectly flat river stones that glitter in the sunlight, an orange salamander sleeping peacefully in the mud, the first new growth of spring popping out of the snow... these are the moments that Emmie seeks to capture in their objects. These moments stack on top of each other, layer by layer, resulting in pieces infused with narrative, spirit, and care. Emmie has shown work at the RISD Museum in Providence, RI, Gallery Nucleus Los Angeles, and Bærum Kunsthall in Fornebu, Norway.
