Hamilton Holmes is a creative furniture studio with a focus on craft and creative expression. The studio leans heavily on a team mentality and employs skilled artisans with a breadth of skills. The studio focuses on everything from functional casegoods to solid wood furniture, as well as collectible design. Every piece that leaves our shop references proportion, craftsmanship and sculptural energies. We are cool people living a lifestyle that is based on craft skill, and that feels both novel and correct. Rooted in Hamilton Ontario’s post industrial community we have an edge that enjoys critiquing the mainstream, while always staying dusty and tired. Nicholas Hamilton Holmes is a Canadian artist and furniture maker whose practice moves between functional design and sculptural inquiry. Working primarily in wood, his work reflects a commitment to traditional craft techniques while engaging with contemporary dialogues around form, materiality, and the cultural weight of objects. Across his solo work and studio output, he remains interested in how objects carry meaning—culturally, historically, and personally—and how they quietly shape the spaces we move through.
