About the artist

Jed Heuer is an artist who lives in Germantown, NY and has a studio in Brooklyn. His work explores the amount of function a sculptural object can hold through themes of nonsense, humor, and absurdity. Forms are often assembled from a combination of lamp parts, appliances, foam, wood, and other specific objects. Materials are flipped, tied together, piled upon, obscured, unraveled and altered. Functionality is rearranged, items are made useless, unplugged cords are used to draw in space, and industrial materials are mismatched with everyday products to create new constructions.
