About the artist

Wyatt Speight Rhue uses wood, metals, and leather to create furniture and functional pieces that border on sculpture. Based in a small coastal town in NC, his process combines traditional hand tools with modern machinery. Whether building from boards, or carving from trees, he is always aiming for simplicity in shape and form. Speight graduated high school from North Carolina School of the Arts and went briefly to School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
